La Colonia or “The Colony,” a six-block area in Fountain Valley, is kicking off its second Neighborhood Pride Day on July 22 with a community cleanup. The city is supplying the trash bins and food for cleanup participants.
Besides making the streets cleaner, residents will have an opportunity to discard everything from old appliances and motor oil.
The Colony is a diverse and historic area in Fountain Valley. In June 1999, to preserve the area, the city created a Neighborhood Improvement and Community Enhancement program, which includes events like the cleanup.
