Fry Cooks Field at Irwindale

Tommy Fry of Canyon Country took the lead from Charles Utts of Camarillo in Turn 4 on lap 50 and went on to win the 75-lap Food 4 Less Super Late Model race in front of 5,459 at Irwindale Speedway on Saturday night.
Fry started from the seventh position and slowly made his way through the 23-car field, first overtaking Ben Walker of North Hills and then Utts. Walker finished second, Utts third.
Points leader Greg Voigt of Goleta was fourth.
The win is Fry’s first ever at the speedway but the eighth of his career. He won seven races previously at Mesa Marin Raceway in Bakersfield.
