Ample Food for Thought
Thank you for Susan King’s article about Linda Greenlaw and her place in “The Perfect Storm” (“In the Eye of a Hollywood ‘Storm,’ ” July 3). It was, however, a bit taxing to read Greenlaw’s partially formed thoughts regarding diet and the Grand Scheme of Ingestion.
Greenlaw uses the expression “food chain,” then goes on to describe a food tower where humans sit way on top, with nothing above. It is hardly “political correctness” to assert that humans become food when they perish (unless you cheat the worms with effort and cunning), and that we are indeed a part of a chain and not in the crow’s nest of a tower. What is on the menu in Davy Jones’ locker?
