YORBA LINDA

There’s been little interest to start with, but city officials are calling Yorba Linda’s new online classes the thing of the future.
The city started offering courses on the Internet this month, giving residents the chance to study computer applications or prepare for the SAT in the comfort of their own home. The first batch of students--six in all--started Jan. 8. Registration is open for the next session beginning Feb. 9.
The program offers advantages to people who cannot go out and take courses offered in a traditional classroom setting, recreation coordinator Eric Crump said.
