Valencia center Megan Honaker might not play Friday against Burbank because of a sprained ankle.
Honaker, averaging 11.3 points and 7.4 rebounds, was injured in the fourth quarter of the Vikings’ game last Friday against Saugus.
Valencia led by five at the time, but gave up six consecutive points en route to a 42-41 loss.
“You can’t blame it on [Honaker’s injury],” Valencia Coach Jerry Mike said. “We’ve got to respond.”
The loss cost Valencia (13-7, 4-1) sole possession of first place in the Foothill League and added importance to its game against Burroughs (14-5, 4-1) next Tuesday.
