CYPRESS
The Cypress Police Memorial will be completed next month, Lt. Mike Idoms said. The memorial will honor Sgt. Donald Sowma, who was shot and killed Nov. 19 after responding to a reported burglary.
The memorial is also being dedicated to the 54 police officers currently on the force as well as past Cypress police officers.
A dedication ceremony is planned for late February. Information: (714) 229-6600.
