Eight people--two from area restaurants and six from a private party--took a free ride on the Brea Shuttle’s special New Year’s Eve service to avoid drinking and driving.
The Police Department helped foot the bill for the free shuttle service to help make local streets safer during the night of revelry. Police Chief William Lentini said the program can’t be viewed as anything but good.
“Anything that keeps the streets safer and allows people to get home safe and sane is viewed as a positive by us,” he said.
