Dining Out for Less in New York
The New York Convention & Visitors Bureau, which for seven years has organized a summer Restaurant Week with specially priced prix fixe meals at the city’s top restaurants, is holding a Winter Restaurant Week for the first time.
From Jan. 31 to Feb. 4, scores of restaurants will serve prix fixe, three-course lunch menus for $20, plus beverage, tax and tip. Last summer, 121 restaurants participated, including such upscale spots as the Blue Water Grill and Jean Georges (Nougatine dining room only).
A preliminary list of this year’s participants is available exclusively to American Express cardholders by calling (212) 484-1267. Restaurants will begin accepting Winter Restaurant Week reservations on Monday. Also this week, a list of participants will become available by calling the visitors bureau at (212) 484-1200 or visiting its Internet site, https://www.nycvisit.com. You can also stop by the NYCVB Visitor Center, 810 7th Ave.
