CITY CHAMPIONSHIP
Narbonne 69, Chatsworth 44--Sophomore Liz Sun collected 21 points, eight rebounds and five steals for the No. 5-seeded Chancellors in a City Championship semifinal loss at L.A. Southwest College.
Ashley Shelton added 10 points for Chatsworth (20-6), which was outscored, 13-0, at the start of the second quarter on its way to a 45-19 halftime deficit.
Ebony Hoffman had 21 points, 15 rebounds and six blocked shots for the top-seeded Gauchos (28-0), who are ranked No. 1 in the nation.
Loree Moore had 14 points and six assists, and Indi Johnson added 11 points and eight rebounds for Narbonne, which forced 34 turnovers.
“I was proud of our effort,” said Coach Raquel Alotis of Chatsworth. “We did a good job defensively. They weren’t running their offense as smoothly as they were the last time I saw them, in a preseason tournament.”
