Edison 53, Manhattan Beach Mira Costa 38--Rachael Ziemann had nine rebounds, five steals and seven assists and sister Bianca scored 18 points for Edison, which plays Santa Barbara on Saturday.
Mater Dei 56, Corona Centennial 55--A free throw by Maile Shimoda (16 points) with six seconds remaining was the difference for the host Monarchs (22-6), who next play Riverside North.
Riverside North 77, Marina 35--Top-seeded North was leading 44-6 at the end of the half. Nikki Lee had 23 points for host Marina (20-10).
In Division I-AA:
El Toro 60, Alhambra 39--Giuliana Mendiola scored 40 points, including the 3,000th of her career, for El Toro (22-6). The Chargers will play Fontana Miller.
Esperanza 54, Etiwanda 40--Kristin Peters scored 14 of her game-high 20 points in the pivotal first half when the Aztecs (23-6) opened up a 28-15 lea.
Fontana Miller 64, Irvine 59--Host Irvine (24-5) gave up a 13-point lead in the third period. Kristin Thawley was the game’s high scorer with 30 points.
Lynwood 65, Century 23--Elizabeth Mendoza managed a team-high nine points for the Centurions (23-5),
Troy 82, Apple Valley 41--Alicia Komaki scored 23, including six three-point baskets, for the Warriors (25-3).
Westminster 58, Oxnard 52--Holly Armstrong scored 10 of her 16 points in the fourth quarter for Westminster (23-5) and Diana Hernandez had 15. The Lions’ defense held Oxnard (22-7) to three baskets in the fourth period. Westminster hosts Chino Hills Ayala on Saturday.
In Division II-A
Pacifica 62, Glendora St. Lucy’s 52--Natalie Estrada scored 25 points for Pacifica (21-7) Pacifica will play Artesia.
Laguna Hills 58, La Puente Bishop Amat 48--The Hawks (16-13) forced second-seeded Bishop Amat (21-8) into 25 turnovers, 14 coming on steals. Megan Aaker scored 23 and had four steals, and Shannon Owens had 17 points. Courtney D’Alessandro had five steals.
In Division III-AA:
Torrance Bishop Montgomery 62, Costa Mesa 31--Sisters Nancy Hatsushi had a team-high eight points for Costa Mesa (18-11).
Rosary 64, Inglewood Morningside 47--Jenise Karcher made three of her four three-point baskets in the second period and Maggie Barnett scored 23 points for Rosary (21-9). Rosary will play top-seeded Mission Hills Alemany in a semifinal.
In Division IV-A:
Orange Lutheran 63, San Pedro Mary Star of the Sea 46--Leanna Holtzclaw scored eight of her 13 points in the fourth quarter as the Lancers (16-8) broke the game open with a 24-10 run. Nicole Grady had 16 points and 16 rebounds.
In Division V-AA:
Brethren Christian 41, North Hollywood Campbell Hall 29--Heather Spowart (14 points) and Jesiree Dizon (10) scored four points each in the fourth quarter as the Crusaders (15-13) broke open the game with a 13-3 run.
