SCR Adds Course in Directing

For the first time, South Coast Repertory has added a class in directing to the course offerings of its Adult Conservatory.
Mark Rucker, an SCR associate artist, will teach a master class in directing limited to 10 to 12 students; Rucker will choose among applicants, who should contact SCR’s education department for details. The class meets from 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays, March 27 through May 22.
Most of the other Adult Conservatory courses don’t have special entrance requirements. All run from March 27 to May 24. They are “Fundamentals of Acting: Basic Skills,” with Norma Bowles, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Thursdays; “Fundamentals of Acting: Act II,” with Norma Bowles, 6:30 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays; “Intermediate Acting,” with Karen Hensel, 7 to 10 p.m. Wednesdays; “Improvisation I,” with Greg Atkins, 7 to 10 p.m. Tuesdays; “Improvisation II,” with Greg Atkins, 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays; “Actors Workshop” (an advanced course requiring previous experience), with Karen Hensel, 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays; and “Acting for the Camera,” with Hal Landon Jr., 7 to 10 p.m. Mondays.
