MONTALVO — A Los Angeles man was arrested Saturday on suspicion of snatching the purse of a Camarillo woman as she waited for an elevator at a motel.
Sharri Doggrell, 39, was standing outside the elevator after checking into the motel in the 3000 block of Johnson Drive when the doors opened and a man inside grabbed her purse, Ventura police said.
The doors then closed with the robber inside.
Doggrell then went to the motel office to notify authorities.
Another guest at the motel, Jayson Nowden, 25, was arrested a short time later. The purse was not recovered, police said.
