The latest round of winter showers and a Laguna Beach sewage spill have prompted Orange County Health Care officials to advise residents to avoid beaches throughout the county at least until Thursday.
Health care officials issued a 72-hour advisory Monday--as they do whenever the county receives substantial rainfall--to warn residents that bacteria levels can rise considerably near storm drains and the mouths of creeks after rainstorms where the effects of urban runoff are the strongest.
