LA HABRA
Residents who live in one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods and officials from the Public Works Department are working closely to save 37 trees along Florence Avenue from being cut down.
Standing up to 40 feet tall, Chinese elms and other large trees that line the 300 block of Florence Avenue are in danger of being chopped down because of damage they have caused to the sidewalks, city officials said.
A neighborhood meeting is slated to be held by the end of the month to discuss the options available for the tree removal plan.
