Man Booked on Suspicion of Seeking Sex From Boy
TORRANCE — A registered sex offender was arrested on suspicion of soliciting sex from a boy walking to school, police said Friday.
Albert Frank Sokolich, 47, of Torrance approached the boy Wednesday morning, authorities said. He solicited a sexual act, but the boy ran to Riviera Elementary School on Paseo de Arena, where administrators called police.
An adult who witnessed the incident gave police the license plate number of the truck Sokolich was allegedly driving. Less than an hour later, police arrested Sokolich on Cabrillo Avenue in Torrance. He was booked on suspicion of resisting arrest and annoying a child under the age of 18.
He was being held on $500,000 bail.
