The Democratic National Convention’s in town this week, but it’s not all politics and parties. A group of about 300 convention delegates, business owners, elected officials and others will pick up paintbrushes, trowels and hammers to participate in a beautification project at Eco Village in Los Angeles on Tuesday.
Gov. Gray Davis is scheduled to join actor Richard Dreyfuss and the other volunteers for a three-hour spruce-up of the Wilshire Center neighborhood, where the participants will make repairs and paint murals at an affordable-housing co-op, Virgil Middle School and White House Primary Center.
