Shots From Passing Car Kill Teen Sitting on Porch

COVINA — A 19-year-old man was shot and killed Thursday morning as he sat on the porch of a home in a nearby county area, police said.
Leonard Barela was sitting in the 17000 block of Alcross Street when the 12:10 a.m. shooting occurred, said Sgt. Chuck Stringham of the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department.
A vehicle drove by and an occupant fired numerous shots at Barela, Stringham said. Barela was hit several times and taken to a local hospital where he died.
