The Planning Department, in an effort to save time with routine requests, is offering electronic permits.
The city is expected to launch its online Planning-Department counter by the end of this month.
Residents can apply for residential water-heater changes, reroofs and residential electrical upgrades from their computers.
The permit system will be accessible through the city’s Web site at https://www.ci.costa-mesa.ca.us.
