An overthrow of the general plan of Los Angeles and the West Hills community plan is the only way to describe the Trafficanda family’s “Scrambled Plans” (July 14), as they seek a variance to change the agricultural zoning of the Trafficanda Egg Ranch into commercial zoning to allow for erection of a public storage facility that will be surrounded by a residential neighborhood.
The impressive show of resources the Trafficanda family mustered for their presentation at the West Hill / Woodland Hills Neighborhood Planning Advisory Council meeting, held July 12, in cooperation with the office of 3rd District Council member Laura Chick, consisting of high-priced lawyers, architects, traffic consultants, real estate appraisers and others, as well as multiple professional-appearing visual aids, could be used to better purpose if done in a manner consistent with the general plan and community plan by allowing the agricultural zoning to revert to residential zoning in the event of closure of the egg ranch.
If the Trafficanda family truly wish to be good neighbors, then their course of action should be clear and should also be in compliance with both the general plan and community plan.
