Teacher Jailed, Bail Increased
A Los Alamitos High School teacher was jailed Friday for violating an order to stay away from a 16-year-old student with whom he allegedly had an unlawful sexual relationship.
Superior Court Judge Andrew Banks increased bail for teacher Kevin Davis to $1 million after learning of allegations that the teacher continued to see the student after his arrest, said Deputy Dist. Atty. Matt Murphy. Davis, 33, had been free on $25,000 bail.
Police arrested Davis in April after a school employee allegedly saw him and the student engaged in a sexual act in a classroom. He is scheduled to return to court Thursday for a pretrial hearing.
