Free Speech and Flag Displays

The American flag stands for many things, including society’s overconsumption, consumerism, free-market enterprise and capitalistic nature.
So what if the Oxnard automobile dealers use Old Glory to grab the attention of potential customers? Many businesses have long flown the flag in hopes of obtaining one American dream: the almighty sale.
Free speech by displaying the flag is another aspect of this symbol.
