Send In the Clowns
“At the Capitol, GOP leaders sent congressional aides dressed as a bride and groom off to the White House to deliver the bill to cut taxes for married couples” (July 28). Making the handling of legislation, any legislation, the occasion for a scene more appropriate in a TV sitcom trivializes not only the legislation but the legislators. Next time, send in the clowns themselves.
