Dollas’ Return Cut Short

Defenseman Bobby Dollas, who suffered a slashed tendon in his left forearm during Tuesday’s 2-2 tie against Toronto, is expected to be sidelined for at least four weeks. The wound was sutured and his arm placed in a cast late Tuesday night in a Toronto hospital.

The Ducks are expected to recall defenseman Dan Trebil from Cincinnati of the American Hockey League to replace Dollas. Trebil was sent Monday to Cincinnati to regain his confidence.

Dollas had returned to the lineup in last Sunday’s tie with the New York Rangers after missing three games because of a broken right big toe.

Count Coach Pierre Page among those in favor of using video replays to review disputed goals, but he would like to see changes to the zero-tolerance rule that disallows goals when a player is in the crease.

“I like the video replay, but it’s the crease rule I could do without,” Page said after two of the four goals in Tuesday’s game against Toronto were reviewed. “I like the basketball rule, where you get three seconds in the paint. But I don’t know who’s going to stand there and count, ‘One steamboat, two steamboat, three steamboat.’ ”
