Welch’s Rushing Powers Canyon

Drew Welch rushed for 69 yards and four touchdowns in 10 carries to help Canyon High defeat Burroughs, 33-21, in a Foothill League game Friday night at Canyon.
Welch scored on three two-yard runs and added a game-clinching 30-yard touchdown run with 3:44 to play.
Matt Gregory gained 120 yards in 22 carries for Canyon (4-3, 1-1 in league play). Gregory has rushed for 100 yards in five games this season.
Chris Santoyo completed 14 of 28 passes for 177 yards and two touchdowns for Burroughs (4-3, 1-1). Kyle Cremarosa caught six passes for 89 yards and one touchdown. Brian Criscuolo had five catches for 84 yards and a touchdown.
Glenn Adriatico, Burroughs’ top receiver, was employed mostly as a decoy but still caught three passes for 59 yards.
