Club Med in Cuba: So Near, So Far
Club Mediterranee is open for business in Cuba--but not to Americans, who are barred from visiting because of a long-standing U.S. economic embargo of the Communist nation. Instead, the French resort chain plans to market its 266-room hotel, located in the Varadero resort area and developed jointly with Cuba’s Gaviota state hotel concern, mainly to French people, its Paris office said last week. It also offers deep-sea fishing and excursions to Havana.
