Resource-Conserving Homes in Southland Featured on Tour
“Homes for the Future: A Tour of Sustainable Living in Southern California” will be presented from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday by the Eco-Home Network.
The self-guided tour will feature 20 homes, most located between San Diego and Santa Barbara, that use a variety of methods, including solar power, energy and water conservation, and recycled and nontoxic building materials, to reduce the negative impact on the environment.
Underground homes and those made of straw bales, sandbags and clay will be among those on the tour. The cost is $5 a person. For information, call (310) 542-2520, or check the Eco-Home Network’s Web site at www.ecohome.org
