CSUN to Hold Free Careers Conference

Cal State Northridge is taking registration for a “Family and Consumer Sciences Career Conference” to be held later this month to explore career opportunities in today’s job market.

Those interested in attending the conference should register by Friday to guarantee admission.

The free conference, scheduled to run from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31, will deal with jobs in consumer affairs, interior and apparel design, merchandising, home economics education, child development, family studies and dietetics and food science.

Local employers are expected to set up exhibits related to these areas, and experts will speak about future career trends.

Adele Scheele, director of CSUN’s Career Center, will discuss the careers in the 21st century.

The event is sponsored by the CSUN Department of Family Environmental Sciences, the American Assn. of Family and Consumer Sciences and the CSUN Career Center.
