City Administrator to Quit for San Diego Post
HUNTINGTON BEACH — City Administrator Michael T. Uberuaga announced Monday that he will step down Nov. 1 to take a similar job in San Diego.
“Frankly, after eight years, this is an emotional moment,” Uberuaga, 52, said at Monday’s City Council meeting. “This has been a great community to work with, and I enjoyed working here.”
Ray Silver, assistant city administrator, will take over Uberuaga’s position temporarily.
Mayor Ralph H. Bauer told Uberuaga, “You are part of the community . . . and we will miss you.”
The council will begin searching for a new city administrator in the next months, Bauer said.
