Maintenance Stirring Silt in Water Pipes
Recent maintenance on the city’s water system has stirred up sediment in west Garden Grove pipes, causing some discoloration of tap water.
The discoloration is caused primarily by silt and other sediments that are harmless and don’t affect water safety, officials said.
City crews are working to flush out the lines and remove the sediment, but officials warned that discoloration could continue temporarily. The city advises that residents run the water until it runs clear, which clears the pipes.
