Prom Teen Thought Baby Dead, Pals Say

The New Jersey teenager charged last week with killing the baby she delivered at her senior prom told friends she believed the infant was dead, NBC-TV’s “Dateline” reported. The program interviewed three friends of Melissa Drexler, 18, who said they spent time with Drexler after her indictment last week. “She didn’t know it was alive. It came out blue. She assumed it was dead,” Amanda Jacobsen told NBC.
