Doris McCoy; County Public Administrator

Doris McCoy of Ventura, retired Ventura County public administrator, died Friday at a local care center. She was 83.
McCoy was born May 15, 1914, in Portland, Maine, and was a 43-year resident of Ventura County. She spent 15 years as public administrator, retiring in 1975.
She is survived by sons Martin of Ventura and Daniel of Australia; daughters Maureen Hurley of Maine and Ellen Lewis of Camarillo, 13 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren.
McCoy was preceded in death by husband Edmund in 1973 and son Kevin in 1962.
Visitation is scheduled from 2 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Joseph P. Reardon Funeral Home, Ventura, where rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Mass of the Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of the Assumption Church. Burial will follow at Ivy Lawn Memorial Park, Ventura.
