Residents Allowed to Put Out Extra Trash
Ojai residents are allowed today to put out two barrels of trash instead of the usual one.
In honor of the city’s Cleanup Day, Harrison Industries will be collecting double the trash--at no extra cost--from its 2,000 Ojai customers. Residents also can put out bulky items, such as couches, mattresses and refrigerators for half the price.
As much waste as possible will be recycled; the rest will be dumped in landfills.
“This is just the city’s way to get cleaned up,” said Harrison spokesman Tom Chiarodit. “We traditionally have extra cleanup days around Christmas and in spring or early summer.”
