Largest Payoff for Pick Six at Hollywood Park
Bea Washington, a security sergeant at Hollywood Park, and an unidentified partner had a life-changing experience Friday night at the Inglewood track.
With what was said to be a $16 investment, they won the biggest Pick Six in Hollywood Park history--$774,014 before taxes. The previous high was $764,489.80 on Dec. 20, 1995.
Washington declined to be interviewed.
Earlier this meeting, longtime horse player Ed Bain, 88, won $758,233.60 when he made a mistake on his ticket and marked the wrong horse--which wound up winning the final race at $160.40.
There was a two-day Pick Six carryover of more than $273,000 Friday night. The six winners in the sequence were Asian Invasion ($34.60), Karmen And Korelle ($8.20), Peaceful Bounty ($21.60), Kelleric ($11.20), Early Colony ($5.20) and Saino ($9.20).
As of late Saturday afternoon, the ticket had not been cashed.
