Wetlands Need to Be Preserved

Regarding your June 3 editorial, “A Preservation Message”:

The decision to restore the degraded wetlands of Orange County deserves to be recognized as a very good decision.

People don’t realize how industrial our society is becoming. It seems people don’t care for their natural environment.

Preserving this important part of Orange County in Bolsa Chica is an act of balancing our environmental habitats. According to the decision made by Judge Judith McConnell, the California Coastal Commission was wrong last year in approving residential development on the Bolsa Chica wetlands and in agreeing to filling in Warner Pond near Huntington Beach.

I strongly believe that a good decision was made and hope more areas of our environment will be preserved.
