Living in the Past at Prehistory Park

There are water parks, amusement parks and Colonial history parks--so why not a prehistory park? Just such a place will open Tuesday in Oyne village, about 25 miles outside Aberdeen, Scotland.

The 40-acre Archaeolink theme park focuses on the culture and peoples of the Bronze Age (about 3500 BC to 1000 BC) and Iron Age (starting about 1000 BC). The site includes the Iron Age Berryhill Fort, a reconstructed Iron Age farm with animals, interactive displays and guides in period costumes.

The park is open daily year-round. Hours are 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. March through October; and, November through February, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekdays and 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. weekends. Tickets are about $6.85 for adults, $4 for children, and $17.50 for families. Information: tel. 011-44-1464-851-500.
