VIGILANT NONSMOKERS

I read those letters, published May 4, from those vigilant nonsmokers, Elizabeth Bell of Agoura and Debra D. Craig of the Moreno Valley, in response to the March 23 cover showing Geoffrey Rush and Billy Bob Thornton holding lighted cigarettes. To many individuals, the rewards of a smoke-free environment seem to overshadow all other achievements. Is it possible that extremism in the pursuit of good health is a sort of vice unto itself?
