South Will Try to Stop Strong North Team

At least a dozen players who will play NCAA Division I softball next year will be participating on the North team when it plays June 11 in the sixth annual Orange County All-Star Game at Brea Olinda High.
The teams were announced Thursday by Soroptomist International of Brea/La Habra.
The North will be coached by Pacifica’s Rob Weil, whose team is ranked No. 1 in the nation by USA Today; the South is coached by Mater Dei’s Doug Myers, whose team is the defending Southern Section Division I champion.
Teams are comprised of seniors, with no more than two from any school.
The North leads the series, 4-1. The game begins at 6:30 p.m. Tickets are $5. For tickets or other information, contact Kim Beckley at (714) 529-3288 during the day or (714) 990-1086 during in the evening.
