Parking Rules Set for Los Rios Street Fest
Gearing up for the second annual Los Rios Street Festival on June 1, the City Council voted this week to close the street during the daylong event.
Because the festival crowd is expected to number in the thousands, vehicle traffic on the rural road will be limited to street residents and recreational vehicle owners who store their campers on Los Rios Street, officials decided.
Visitors must park downtown or at other locations and walk to the festival.
The event will feature live entertainment, pony rides, walking tours of the district, storytelling, art booths, face painting and barbecues.
Sponsored by the city’s Shop and Dine campaign and the Los Rios Merchants, last year’s inaugural event attracted more than 5,000 people.
The event will be from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Los Rios and Verdugo streets.
