JazzReggae Festival Set for UCLA

The 11th annual JazzReggae Festival takes place Sunday and Monday at UCLA’s Intramural Field. The event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m., is free to the public and features an international food and crafts marketplace.
The lineup for Sunday, the Jazz Day, includes Poncho Sanchez’s Latin jazz band, trumpeter Terence Blanchard performing with pianist Mulgrew Miller, and the UCLA Jazz Studies Faculty ensemble (Kenny Burrell, guitar; Billy Higgins, drums; Harold Land, tenor sax; Billy Childs, piano; and others). On Monday, the Reggae Day program showcases roots band Wailing Souls, “Mother Culture” vocalist Sister Carol, Half Pint and Jamaican/English dance-hall artist Tippa Irie. Information: (310) 825-9912.
