Hawthorne police officers who were overwhelmed by fumes when they raided an illegal methamphetamine laboratory Wednesday night were treated and released from two hospitals, officials said.
Five officers who felt ill shortly after they arrived at 9 p.m. were treated at the scene of the laboratory in the 4300 block of West 134th Street, Hawthorne Police Lt. John Beerling said Thursday.
The officers later were transported to two hospitals, examined and released within hours. Seven suspects were arrested at the laboratory, authorities said.
