Mary G. Riordan, Retired Nurse

Mary G. Riordan, a longtime member of Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church in Ventura, has died. She was 93.

Riordan was born Sept. 20, 1904, in Cape Breton, Nova Scotia, Canada. She lived in Ventura County for 32 years, moving from the San Fernando Valley.

A registered nurse who retired in 1965, Riordan enjoyed working with her hands, and was skilled at knitting and crocheting. She was a past member of the Rosary Altar Society and a member of Catholic Daughters of America.

Riordan is survived by her son, Donald Riordan of Ventura, daughter Marie Rankin of Fort Mojave, Ariz., sister Anna MacGillivray of Ventura, six grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.

Friends may call today from 4 to 8 p.m. at Ted Mayr Funeral Home in Ventura. Rosary will be at 7 p.m. at the funeral home. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church. Burial will follow at San Fernando Mission Cemetery in San Fernando.
