Dead County Jail Inmate Is Identified
SANTA ANA — An inmate who died of a heart attack Sunday at the Orange County Central Men’s Jail has been identified as Gordon Paustell, 50, of Cypress.
Sheriff’s Department officials said paramedics arrived at the jail to treat Paustell after he became ill during visiting hours. He was pronounced dead at Western Medical Center-Santa Ana.
Paustell had been held in jail since March 22 on suspicion of spousal rape, false imprisonment and making terrorist threats, Sheriff’s Lt. Ron Wilkerson said.
