Top Administrators to Get Merit Raises

The City Council has approved 4% merit raises for four administrators who report directly to the council.
Mayor Tom Daly said the council reviewed their performances and determined increases to be “appropriate and fair” for City Manager James D. Ruth, City Atty. Jack L. White, City Clerk Leonora Sohl and City Treasurer Charlene Jung.
“It certainly reflects a job well done,” Daly said.
Daly said the increases are retroactive to Jan. 1. None of the four has had a raise for three years, he said, though other employees have received increases during that time.
The raises will cost the city about $17,000 a year, city officials said.
