IRVINE — Thomas Bros. maps of Irvine announced Monday that it has settled a copyright infringement suit against G.M. Johnson & Associates Ltd. of Vancouver, B.C.
Under terms of the settlement, G.M. Johnson agreed to make changes in its page design and color, as well as other alterations, to reduce the similarity between the two companies’ map books, Thomas Bros. said. No damages were paid, and G.M. Johnson did not acknowledge any copyright violations, Thomas Bros. said.
Thomas Bros. filed suit last October asserting that Johnson violated its copyright in publishing map books in Sacramento, San Jose, Seattle, and Portland, Ore. Thomas Bros. settled a similar copyright case against Etak Inc. in Menlo Park.
