Two Degrees of Separation

NEW YORK —  Sara Gilbert, who grew up on TV’s “Roseanne”--playing Roseanne Conner’s acerbic and willful daughter Darlene--graduates with honors from Yale Monday. (Gilbert makes her final appearance as Darlene tonight on the series finale.) After graduation, Sara, like those Ivy League alums Jodie Foster and Brooke Shields, returns to show-biz full time. In fact, a 25-minute documentary that Gilbert produced and directed turned out so well it has been invited for screening at several film festivals. . . . Courtney Love visited with Fleetwood Mac last week, during rehearsals for Fleetwood’s upcoming MTV reunion concert. Courtney, a fan from way back, sidled up to Lindsey Buckingham and whispered huskily, “Your guitar-playing just gives me the chills.” But don’t get any ideas. Love’s still hand-holding with actor Ed Norton.
