Leon Tokatyan; Wrote Pilot for ‘Lou Grant’

Leon Tokatyan, 73, television writer and producer who penned the pilot for “Lou Grant.” Tokatyan later wrote and produced several episodes of the Ed Asner series, including three that were nominated for Writers Guild of America awards. He won the award for best writing in 1978 for the episode titled “Vet.” Among Tokatyan’s other awards were the Humanitas best writing achievement award.
