The condition of an 18-year-old Ventura man who was shot several times by a 16-year-old this week is improving, hospital officials said.
Chris Ringgold, who was in critical condition and underwent several surgeries following Monday’s shooting, was listed in serious condition at Ventura County Medical Center on Tuesday night.
Ringgold, a former tenant of a house in the 100 block of Howard Street in Ventura, was shot after he approached the house armed with a butcher knife, Ventura police said. They believe Ringgold was trying to retrieve some of his belongings at the time of the incident.
The youth who shot Ringgold was questioned by police and released, pending further investigation.
