On Saturday, area photographers are invited to hit local beaches, hills and streets in search of photos proving that “Ventura is the cooler place.”

The Ventura Visitors and Convention Bureau is sponsoring the one-day photo contest, dubbed “Snapshot Day.” Residents of every age are encouraged to take pictures Saturday of the images they think best represent Ventura to visitors. After a day of shooting, participants can choose their three best photos for submission to the contest.

Winners of the contest will receive prizes, and their pictures will run in the Ventura County and Coast Reporter and be displayed at various locations. Some winning entries may be used by the visitors bureau in advertising publications.
