32 Killed as Plane Veers Off Runway

An incoming Boeing 737 on a domestic flight veered off the runway and broke in two, catching fire and killing at least 32 people on board, airport officials said. The China Southern Airlines jet landed in heavy rain at the airport in Shenzhen, on the Hong Kong border, and split into pieces within minutes, officials said. The cause of the accident was not immediately known. About 30 people were hospitalized, the officials said.
