Buena High softball player Kris Herman had a 19-game hitting streak broken against Righetti last weekend in a Thousand Oaks tournament game.

Herman, a junior first baseman who is batting .527, started another streak by going two for three against Thousand Oaks ace Jennifer Sharron in the next game.

* L.A. Baptist freshman softball player Nikki Girard has tied the school season record of 28 stolen bases set by her sister, Alisa Girard, in 1993.

* Quartz Hill sophomore Jodie Cox again appears to be the Golden League’s most dominant softball player. She entered the week averaging 8.6 strikeouts per game and nearly 1.5 per inning in 104 1/3 innings. She was batting .484 with 18 runs batted in.

* Since becoming a full-time starter eight games ago, Highland High catcher Danny Galvan is batting .480, including four doubles and four home runs, with 16 RBIs.

* Agoura sophomore outfielder Tom Ong had five hits, including four doubles, in 21 at-bats entering the week.

* Burroughs softball pitcher J.T. Tyler was outstanding last week in keeping the Indians (13-8, 3-3) in third place in the Foothill League behind Saugus and Hart. The junior had 10 strikeouts in a 6-2 victory over Canyon. Her triple in the top of the ninth inning broke a 2-2 tie. For the week, Tyler had six hits in eight at-bats.
